This project aims to increase childcare capacity by developing a comprehensive approach to recruitment, training, education and support for entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds aspiring to start high-quality, culturally competent family childcare businesses in their communities. The project is led by Family Services of Central Massachusetts, an affiliate of Seven Hills Foundation, which offers advising and training for individuals working in or seeking to enter the early childhood workforce through its Center for Childcare Careers. The idea for this project originated from the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston’s Leaders for Equitable Local Economies (LELE) Child Care initiative in Fitchburg, which works in partnership with Empower Children for Success to support family childcare entrepreneurs in the region.
