This project aims to strengthen and support Central Massachusetts regional Food is Medicine providers and expand access to home-delivered medically tailored meals (MTMs) and related services across the region. The project is led by seasoned MTM provider Community Servings, a founding member of the national Food Is Medicine Coalition and co-convener of the Food is Medicine Massachusetts (FIMMA) state-wide coalition. Its goals include building new health care contract relationships to expand access to MTMs, strengthening referral systems, engaging local community-based organizations to ensure adequate transition supports for clients, and leveraging opportunities for expanded funding to sustain MTM and related nutrition interventions in Central Massachusetts through the MassHealth Flexible Services program and other health insurance programs like Medicare.
