Synergy Initiative Fund
This fund offers donors the opportunity to augment the impact of The Health Foundation’s multi-year efforts addressing complex problems in our community with the goal of taking proven results and advocating for sustainable systems change.
The following are those who have contributed to The Health Foundation Fund to support one of the Foundation’s multi-year grants through the Health Care and Health Promotion Synergy Initiative Fund.
Fred Harris Daniels Foundation: $75,000 over 3 years (2016-2018)
For the Worcester HEARS Supplemental Social Emotional Supports Program to implement MindUP in four elementary schools in Worcester. MindUP is a supplemental social emotional research-based curriculum offered by the Hawn Foundation.
MindUP is a science-centric and evidence-based teaching framework that is grounded in Neuroscience, Positive Psychology, Mindful Awareness and Social & Emotional Learning. MindUP has 15 lessons that are brought to life by a teacher in the classroom and provides an immersive discovery experience along with daily practices. MindUP drives positive behavior – improves learning and scholastic performance while increasing empathy, optimism and compassion.
